Dr. Anthony Smith and the beautifully sacred services he provides to beloved pets at the end of life is amazing. From my first conversation with him about caring for my dog as she approached the end of her life, I felt his compassion and empathy. I also appreciated how direct and straight-forward he was in explaining the process, yet also gentle and kind. Dr. Anthony made one of the most difficult days I've ever had a very beautiful experience. My dog, Miko immediately felt comfortable with him (and she could be very finicky about people). I am so grateful to him and it gives me great comfort to have been able to give her such a peaceful and calm passing. Thank you Dr. Anthony. You are a God-send.

Five stars isn't enough to describe the unparalleled support, compassion and calmness I experienced when having to make the most gut wrenching decision I've ever had to make. Dr. Anthony Smith answer my fevered phone calls, my anxiety ridden emails and provided me with guidance surrounding end of life issues for my beloved dog Roxie. Roxie was diagnosed with advance stage metastatic cancer on July 13 and the following two weeks were spent trying to make her comfortable and me getting ready for the big hole that would be left by her departure. Roxie intuitively knew Anthony was there to take care of her. Usually a little hesitant with strangers, especially men, she walked right up to him to greet him on their first meeting. He explained what we could expect in the next couple of weeks or months as she deteriorated. He actually reached out to me after our initial appointment to see how Roxie and I were doing! When do you hear of an Vet doing that? Unfortunately, my Rox-star only lasted another 2 weeks and transitioned over the rainbow bridge on July 28. Dr. Smith is a gifted practitioner. He'll make a truly difficult life event a tad bit easier.

Omg - Anthony is the best! You will have a professional judgement free experience. He is just wonderful!! My poor nine year old bunny Epicurious was the bestest pet I have EVER had and it just DEVASTATED my wife and I to have to end her life. She had a growth on her shoulder which I worked w our vet to have removed but the day before the surgery another growth appeared immediately next to it and we decided with our vets guidance to let nature take it course as it had metastasized to her spine. Anthony is easy to talk to, efficient and to the point when he arrives and gave us all the time we needed. He made our loss easier. I will use him again when needed. Thank you Anthony!!! -Jonathan K. Even though he was sick and old, it was very hard to make the decision to let our Owen go. Dr. Smith was a kind and soothing presence during a very hard time. With Dr. Smith's help, Owen quietly passed in our backyard surrounded by loved ones. It's nothing you ever want to go through but I am eternally thankful that Dr. Smith was there for us and for Owen. - Jean P. (Oakland)
Dr. Smith came to our home to help our very dear kitty Rowan transition. Rowan was once a feral cat so home euthanasia was a perfect option for him. Dr. Smith had such a peaceful and calming demeanor, making a very difficult day a bit easier. He was very professional; the procedure and associated tasks went very smoothly. We felt very well cared for on such a sad day. He brought a paw print kit, which was so special as we have just had a baby who will not remember meeting Rowan. Dr. Smith allowed us to give our friend the humane end he deserved in the comfort of his own bed. What a gift. I highly recommended his services.

I can't say enough about Dr. Smith and the service he provides. It was as peaceful and painless as it could possibly be. My sibling dogs were suffering from the infirmities of old age and we weren't able to do much for them to make them comfortable any more. Dr. Smith was a calm and comforting presence during a tough tough time. I wish I could have done this for my other pets, it makes a tremendous difference. Do not hesitate to call Rainbow Bridge.

Dr. Smith shared one of the darkest days of my life, the day my beloved Golden Retriever died. Cancer claimed his body and his decline was rapid. Within a week he went from being a happy, active dog to being extremely ill with no quality of life. My husband and I thought we were giving Bear the ultimate and final gift by asking for help in his transition from this life to the next. But Bear gave us a final gift. When Dr. Smith knelt on the floor beside him, Bear, who had been unable to move, raised his head and shoulders and leaned forward to greet this person that he knew had come to help him. There was a tangible connection between Bear and Dr. Smith. Bear's acknowledgement and appreciation of the help being offered affirmed our decision and made the end of his life easier for us. Dr. Smith was both professional and very caring with our dog and with us. Our tears and final words of farewell were not only accepted but encouraged. It was clear he could help our dog and that he understood the love between human and pet and the grief that suffering and death brings. I have been honored to share his name with others who face this difficult time in life, and my story has led friends around the country to look for similar veterinary care in their areas. In the devastating experience of losing my best friend, Dr. Smith was truly a gift.
